How Much SSD Storage Do I Need?
Choosing an SSD only by its advertised capacity can lead to a failed clone or a laptop that fills up again soon.

Start with used space
In Windows, check the current drive’s capacity and how much is used. Include the operating system, apps, documents, photos, and anything you want moved. Leave meaningful free space for updates and future files. If you have a large video or game library, your needs may differ from someone who mainly uses a browser and office apps.
Think about the migration
A clone needs a destination that can accommodate the data and partitions being moved. A smaller SSD can sometimes work when used space is low, but it requires an appropriate migration plan; do not assume every disk can be copied directly to a smaller drive. A failing source drive may not clone at all.
Tell us your exact model, current total and used storage, and whether you want everything transferred. We will quote a compatible size and the complete cost rather than recommending a capacity without seeing your setup.
