What RAM Does My Laptop Need?
A laptop needs the correct memory generation and form factor, within the capacity supported by its board and firmware.

What the label does not tell you
Seeing “8 GB” in Windows tells you the amount, not whether it is soldered, whether a slot is free, or which module type fits. DDR generations are not interchangeable. A module may physically resemble another but still be incompatible.
Information for a precise quote
Send the full laptop model, current memory amount, and a photo or screenshot of any service tag if available. We will check whether a module can be replaced or added and quote the part, starting $69 labor, and shipping. If the design is sealed or soldered, we will say so before you send the laptop.
We also ask what feels slow. If the real bottleneck is a mechanical drive, buying more RAM alone may disappoint. Compatibility and the problem being solved both matter.
